A journey with tea that began in 1964
We are a family business whose journey with tea began in 1964, when our founders — our grandparents — met at Thanh Ba Tea Factory. Their lifelong work with tea became the foundation that Về Trà continues today.
Where our founders met at Thanh Ba Tea Factory
Our founders, our grandfather and grandmother, met in 1964 at Thanh Ba Tea Factory — the first tea factory in Vietnam. That meeting marked the beginning of our family's journey with tea.
They began there as interns and later joined the management and quality-control teams. Tea soon became both their profession and the centre of their working lives.
Tea became a profession and a lasting family value
After their first years at Thanh Ba, they moved to Yên Bái to help build what was then the largest tea factory in Vietnam. In the years that followed, they travelled and worked across the country, helping establish more tea gardens and factories.
As tea technologists and tea tasters for most of their lives, they kept tea at the centre of our family's work, knowledge and values — a commitment that continued until their retirement.
Learning the Craft
Their journey began with hands-on learning and work at Thanh Ba Tea Factory.
Management & Quality
From interns, they went on to work in management and tea quality control.
Across Vietnam's Tea Regions
From Thanh Ba to Yên Bái and beyond, tea regions across Vietnam became places of work, research and experience.
Research & Development
Their knowledge of raw materials, processing and quality was built through decades of practical work.
Building Tea Factories
They helped establish tea gardens and factories in different parts of Vietnam throughout their careers.
A Family Legacy
Their knowledge, discipline and connection with tea became a legacy that our family continues to carry forward today.
Rooted in their legacy, continued in today's way
Continuing their legacy, we work across manufacturing, product development and new possibilities around Vietnamese tea.
Inherited knowledge is our starting point, but each generation must continue learning, experimenting and working directly with tea in a changing market and cultural context.
From manufacturing to trade promotion and education
We continue our family's journey through practical work in manufacturing, trade promotion and education — helping Vietnamese tea producers and tea professionals develop and share Vietnamese Tea Culture.
Research & Development
We continue to research raw materials, processing methods and product development rooted in Vietnamese tea.
Supporting Local Producers
We work with local enterprises and producers on product development, market access and trade promotion.
Sharing Vietnamese Tea Culture
Through education and tea experiences, we help bring Vietnamese tea, its stories and its culture to audiences in Vietnam and abroad.
A new chapter, not a new beginning
An Trà was an important chapter in our family's long journey with tea and the direct foundation from which Về Trà has evolved.
Về Trà carries forward what has already been built, while opening the story more broadly: beyond the teas themselves to the land, the tea plant, the people, the craft, the culture, and the connections formed around tea.
Yet in Vietnamese, the word “Về” carries deeper and more beautiful meanings.
To return.
To find our way back.
To reconnect with our roots.
To find our way back to where we belong.
This is why Về Trà is about more than tea.
It is a return to what is most authentic and original about tea — to the land where it begins, the tea plant, the hands of those who make it, the culture, and the connections formed around a cup of tea.
Vision & Mission
Bring People Closer to Vietnamese Tea
To broaden the ways Vietnamese tea can be discovered, experienced and understood, so its values can reach more generations and communities in Vietnam and beyond.
Carry Forward, Research and Share
To carry forward inherited knowledge, develop products, work alongside tea producers, and share the stories and culture of Vietnamese tea with audiences at home and abroad.
The journey that began in 1964 is still being written.
We continue to learn, research and work with tea, carrying our family's experience forward while helping more people discover the depth and character of Vietnamese tea.
